The Chandigarh Housing Board is planning to launch a new housing scheme known as “CHB Sector 54 Housing Scheme”. Under this scheme government aims to build 1,000 new flats in Sector 54. As per the recent news, “Hindustan Times” was published. “The layout plan is already prepared by CHB, and within a week, it will be submitted. The CHB will launch this scheme officially if the plan is approved.
There are a total of 492 flats that are being completed by CHB in Sector 54. CHB conducted a demand survey after being postponed in 2025, and they received a very good response. CHB Sector 54 Housing Scheme – Launch Date
CHB Sector 54 Housing Scheme is a welfare programme planned by the Chandigarh Housing Board. This scheme will be released in the second or third week of September at the end of 2025. Under this scheme, CHB constructed 1,000 flats in Sector 54. The total land for building 1,000 flats is 32 acres of land. All the land is the property of UT Administration, but according to the information, there is an illegal Adarsh colony and a furniture market is being made on the land, so the housing board decided to take specific action for the illegal structure in June and July.
The housing board said that they will remove all the illegal structures and start a new project on this land. The housing board is planning to build 4 BHK, 3BHK, 2BHK, and one BHK flats in Sector 54. Housing board constructs 4 BHK flats for large families, 3BHK and 2BHK flats built for middle-class families, and one BHK flats made for small families. CHB also builds some flats for lower lower-income group and EWS. The furniture market is removed on 20th July 2025, whereas the Adarsh colony is removed on 19th June 2025 as per the court order.
